Make exercise part of your life
Successful entrepreneurs know that a healthy body will help cultivate a healthy mind. The WHO recommends adults aged 18–64 should do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity throughout the week, which comes down to between 20-30 minutes a day. Luckily, you don’t have to take your exercise in one go, if you can’t find a 30 minute block, you can take a few 15 minute swims or take a lunch time walk.
Chill out the healthy way
Spend your “downtime” wisely by doing things that you enjoy and that enrich your life such as creative hobbies like cooking, painting or a game of soccer or an invigorating yoga session.
When you are chasing you dream, everything can seem serious and you can easily lose your sense of humour so inject some fun things to laugh about. Watch or listen to funny shows or spend time with people who make you laugh. Laughing is great for your wellbeing, it lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormone levels, and you benefit a reduction of stress which cut the anxiety and stress impacting your body.
When you’re busy, it’s easy to get into the habit of grabbing whatever is closest – usually a greasy pastry and cup after cup of coffee. But remember that what you put into your mouth is what fuels you, so you can burn out with a bad diet. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, cooking meals at home, and reducing your intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates, may help to improve mood and lower your risk for. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and nutrient dense, which means they are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre. By eating better, you could help improve your energy endurance (no sugar crashes) and mood, among other benefits.
Get better sleep
Busy days followed by late nights are often part and parcel of being an entrepreneur, so catching shut eye can be challenging. But recharging is vital to your success so whether you force yourself to sleep at a certain time or take power naps, find a consistent sleep routine and stick to it.
